Overview:
Student Retention is a major focus in higher education; however, institutions must be specific in their retention practices for their particular institution and specific student body. Strategies to increase retention must be intentional and specific. Institutions must move from an “across the board” approach to retention and take a more specified approach that requires intrusive and purposeful interactions woven throughout the institutional fabric. Understanding the intersection of the student and institution must remain at the core of retention initiatives.
